Budget rental requirements – qualifications. • Present a valid driver's license. • Mexican citizens are required to present the official voting ID (RFC) issued by the IFE. Foreign citizens are required to present a valid passport and official ID. • An acceptable credit card with enough line of credit to support the rent. At the time of rental, an authorization will be obtained from your credit card carrier, based on the estimated final charges. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE ISSUED UNDER THE SAME HOLDER´S NAME. • Have a minimum age of 25. For renters between 21 and 24 years old, a supplement of US $10 a day applies. • The additional Authorized Drivers should meet the minimum age of 21 – please consider the age restriction stated above - and present a valid driver´s license, the official voting ID (RFC) if a Mexican citizen and official ID if foreign citizens. Again, all documents to be issued under the same holder´s name. Rental policies. • Your reservation will be guaranteed for a maximum of 2 hours if low season and 1 hour during peak season. • Budget vehicles may not be driven outside Mexico’s borderline. However, Budget vehicles may cross the borderline into the United States but a previous permission is required. • Budget reserves the right to refuse the service if a renter does not meet one or more of the rental requirements. Additional charges. • Gas tank level is clearly indicated in the Rental Agreement. We can refuel for you, however, bear in mind that the rate per liter charged by Budget will be higher than the one at the gas station. Do we suggest stopping at the gas station and refueling the tank to the level indicated in the contract at the moment of the rental. • Budget offers one way rentals, that means you may return the car in a different city to the one you picked it up. The extra charge will be assessed at the time of returning the car. Please contact our Call Center 01-800-700-1700 for further information and rates. • For those contracts opened at Airport facilities, an Airport Concession Fee of 15% will apply. • All rentals will be charged with a Vehicle License Fee of US $1.50 per day. • Applicable 11 or 16% Value Added tax will be charged. Coverages. ALL COVERAGES ARE ADDITIONAL AND OPTIONAL. Our Time & Mileage rates already includes a Limited Liability insurance which coves up to US $2,500 in case of an accident. Additionally, at our Rental Counters you will be able to purchase at extra costs: LDW. Loss Damage Waiver. This service relieves you of part of the responsibility for the damage of Budget vehicle, if the car is used in accordance to the Rental Agreement. A deductible of 10% applies in case of collision and it is based on the commercial value of the vehicle at the moment of the accident. Total loss of the vehicle is covered with a 20% deductible based on the commercial value of the car. If the LDW is declined, the renter will be 100% responsible for the full value of the Budget vehicle. LDW is US $25.00 per day. PAE. Personal Accidents Insurance. This coverage protects you and vehicle passengers against any accident involving bodily injury while occupying the vehicle up to US $20,000. The amount will be divided among the number of passengers travelling in Budget vehicle at the moment of the accident. The maximum capacity of vehicles is clearly stated in the Vehicle Registration available in the car. PAE is US $3.00 per day. SLI. Supplementary Liability Insurance. Increases the Third Party Liability up to US $100,000 in case of an accident. In addition, legal assistance is provided. SLI is US $15.00 per day. ESP. Extended Coverage. This is an special combination of the prior 3 coverages at an special rate. ESP is US $35.00 per day. IMPORTANT. Coverages will not apply outside Mexico. All terms and conditions are subject to the General Clauses stated in our Rental Agreement which is Authorized by the Mexico Government - PROFECO on 1768-2010.
